Hi there. I'm a second year ITP student whose only sustainable practice has probably been to recycle whatever cans, bottles, and paper I use...most of the time..

Prior to ITP I worked in the pharmaceutical and the multimedia industries. Everyday so much stuff got tossed as hazardous waste at the pharmaceutical companies and once in a while we would end up trashing so many old CDs at the multimedia company. Where did all that waste go? I don't have an exact answer but I'm pretty sure the result wasn't environmentally friendly.

I'm interested to see how companies can redesign themselves so that the waste they end up tossing gets converted into something useful. Especially at the rate technology products keep changing, what becomes of the old stuff? And "green architecture" would be another interesting topic to look into - how houses can be made more energy efficient.

Results from a couple of the quizzes are on the blog I plan to use for class: http://sustainanj.blogspot.com/
