Adding a second layer of sustainable green energy to the conference room at ITP.
Goals:
- Give people in the room a choice between regular and "green" power supply
- Heighten awareness about power usage
- Prove that there exists an alternative
Project Elements:
Design
Includes lighting, alternate cabling/switches, and informational/ambient display
Solar Power
- Figure out a more efficient way to log data from the solar panel (possibly using a simple PIC circuit with an Xport, if we can get a connection up on the 12th floor...) 12-F to 4-F Communications
- Solar operated objects within the room - blinds?
- Heliostat Mirrors: An Alternative Form of Solar Power link
or Just using mirrors to redirect and make the most of the natural light in the room.
