Author(s): Kyle Outlaw

Keywords: mobile ubiquitous computing, user experience, information architecture, user interface design, search, embedded privacy, random access memory, post-linear narrative

In the recent years keyword search has become the dominate method by which users access content on the worldwide web. In this paper the current tendency toward non-linear or post-linear navigation and the proliferation of mobile devices is discussed. The paper then looks at the future and predicts how narrative forms might be affected by mobile ubiquitous computing. The novel is used as an example. Finally the impact of open source software techniques on the creation of narrative is examined.
