Description
This thesis is a design experiment study that intends to explore the relationship between the emotional and physical space behavior in the context of the telecommunication device usage. Rather than focusing on the design and technology of the telecommunication device directly, the central issue of this thesis is the transformed behaviors of the human spatial awareness that has been driven by the technologies.
By using design research method, the result of this study becomes the project ‘Where Are You’, which is the collection of the prototypes and scenarios of five different product/ environmental designs. Most of them are the products that propose to reshape the user behaviors of the telecommunication device usage in the social environment to concern more about the boundary between private and public in both emotional and physical space. The intent of Project ‘Where Are You’ is to provoke the discussion about the awareness of living together in the physical social space, in our multi-spatial recognition world.
