Little Bog Boy
Gabe Barcia-Colombo
A strange little boy with two heads found in a swamp.

Description
An experiment in interactive narrative, the little bog boy is a fictional character presented as completely real and existing in modern times. I will construct an ellaborate narrative around this boy and then create a physical installation that not only reacts to your presence, but interacts with you as if it were a living breathing organism.
Personal Statement
As a film student, I constantly struggled to bring fictional characters to life. I felt frustrated by the fact that my characters always merely existed in 2D screen space. This project will allow me to create a quirky real life character in 3D space.
Background
Tony Oursler's video work is very inspirational to me. I love the way he projects onto unconventional surfaces. Also the work of Bill Viola. In terms of style, I am heavily influenced by the imagery in films such as The City of Lost Children and Terry Gilliam's Brasil.
Implementation
The gameplan is to film the heads of the character and then encorporate these projections into a real life installation.
