Citizen: Communication Design With A Conscience
Alice Tang
An exploration of how communication designers can make a vital contribution to social change.
Description
Citizen Design is communication design with a conscience. Through this exploration I aim to empower designers with the inspiration and tools in providing high-quality interactive and visual identities for to those who need them most.
Citizen Design is a counteractive experiment to the design democracy movement. The world is finally taking note that good design not only improves the quality of life but can be a potent launchboard for social change. As visual designers realize their tremendous power to influence public opinion, where do their responsibilities lie? How can designers utilize their skills in providing communication possibilities for the issues, people, and organizations that most desperately deserve a voice?
