BuddyPingBuddyPing is a friend-finder. The service is similar to Dodgeball in that a given user sends their location via SMS to a server app, which then pings those people on the given user's buddylist (which can now be imported from msn, etc... sweet!). The service is free. Main implementation use PHP, MySQL on Apache, with Clickatel gateway for sending SMS messages (http://www.clickatel.com/). BuddyPing also offers a Java app to replace SMS messaging for GPRS and Java enabled phones |
