LavalifeMobileI always laugh when I see those ads on TV for the text message flirting services. Sexy singles are waiting to send you hot messages in block print shorthand right now. WOT R U WARNG? I looked into the one sponsored by LavaLife, that sketchy site full of people looking for casual sex. I discovered this while doing anthropological research. You join Lavalife Mobile by texting JOIN to 25245 (CLICK). You don't have to be a member of the Web-based Lavalife to join. After sending the text, a profile is created for you. You edit your profile by sending various commands to 25245: JOIN = Set-up your Lavalife Mobile profile. This adds up to lots and lots of messages sent. The simpletons who join this service would probably spot this scam. That's probably why they don't charge you for messages you send. Instead, they charge you 50 CENTS per RECEIVED messaged. YOWSA! Evidently, this includes not only messages you received from all of those hot singles, but automated responses to profile changes, alerts that tell you ABOUT new messages (different from the messages themselves), alerts that tell you someone simply LOOKED at your profile, and alerts about new members who "might match your profile." Crazy. There are no instructions on how to stop these alerts. Sign me up! |
