ScanBuy, who created the ScanZoom application (where users scan the codes of items and then comparison shop on their phones) has created a new app called ScanLife that links camera phones to movie posters. Apparently, with ScanLife, users scan an "EZcode" barcode on a movie poster. Users are then hit with trailers, info about the stars in the film and the opportunity to buy tickets. Content providers must purchase an EZcode from ScanLife.
I'm wondering is this system can be implemented with something that's already found and individualized on movie posters. But I guess this doesn't already exist. I'm also wondering how long it will take for someone else to use the codes for their own devices. Perhaps you can send the codes to a particular critics site and get their reviews as opposed to propaganda from the movie studios.
