Homework: Contribute to the wiki list of other related video wall projects .
Homework: Set up a blog / site for your project (you may add a category to an existing blog). Each week, you should post documentation of project progress to your site. Link from the wiki: ProjectIdeas-F12.
Homework: Develop storyboards for your project. Draw and scan or create them digitally. Don't program and design yet, just think about a 3 minute experience --beginning, middle, and end. Post these online and link from the project ideas wiki. Be prepared to walk through the storyboards and "act them out" in class next week -- rehearse doing this in 3 minutes!

Homework: Develop one visual sample to look at on the video wall. Follow these instructions: FirstTime-F12 (Note this is really meant for Week 4 where you will have large block of time to work at IAC. We will only look at a quick visual sample, 2-3 minutes per project. In two weeks, you'll have 2 hours.)

Homework: Prepare a 3840x1080 prototype of your project to test at IAC. Build it in such a way that you can test lots of variation visually (white background vs. black background vs. patterned background, etc). Sign up for prep time, 10am - 5pm:

This class is dedicated to experimenting with interactivity on large-scale screens. Students will develop one project over the course of the semester, culminating with a showing at InterActiveCorp’s 120 X 12-foot video wall at their corporate headquarters on 18th and the West Side Highway. A mock-up of the system will be available at ITP for testing. Class time will be divided between independent project development, critique, technical demonstrations, and field trips to IAC. Group projects are encouraged and students should be comfortable programming in Java and Processing.

Readings will be provided from time to time via the class mailing list. Students are also encouraged to suggest relevant readings via the mailing list.
