Using skin to complete a circuit

Many times it would be nice to use a touch to trigger some response. Though the resistance of skin is too high to pass enough current to directly power a circuit element like an LED or buzzer, we can detect the small amount of current that is passed and use it to control a higher-power load.

Some examples of transistor circuits that can accomplish this are at http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/trancirc.htm - look under "Darlington pair". Check this space soon for better diagrams and examples.
