Computational Media – Week 4

Objects (TwitterSphere)

Not  a big Twitterer (tweeter??) myself… but thought that something fun could be done with all that chatter. This quick processing sketch takes the raw (unfiltered) Twitter feed and displays it as concentric circles. I hope to expand on this visualization giving it interaction and further spatial dimensionality.

I used the Tweet Stream library written by Mark McBride. The applet had to be signed in order for it to work… that took a little trial and error but there is a good reference here. Because the library is somewhat bulky it takes a while to load.

Applet  and Source **I’ve apparently maxed out the quota on the Twitter account I used for this so it may no longer run as an applet… looking for a workaround.
