Layers of Mediation in Circuits
Using components like transistors and other integrated circuits offer a means of mediation from a microcontroller like the Arduino letting it control higher current loads that are beyond the capacity of its own power supply. This lab demonstrated how the arduino can be used to control a DC motor operating on an independent power source via a TIP120 resistor as well as how an HBridge can be used to switch a DC motor’s polarity; switching its direction.
