Rhizome Voting Open

Hello there. Rhizome.org, the "online platform for the global new media art community," has opened its 2007 commission entries for voting. There are several projects from the ITP pool in the mix this year:

So, if you're a Rhizome member, be sure to rock the vote, and if you're not, I'm sure everyone would appreciate your comments. Below is an excerpt from a form email to all the entrants:

Thank you for participating in the Rhizome Commissions Program! The first round of voting begins today.

We want to let you know that this year comments will be an option on your commissions proposal page. This feature was inspired by feedback from artists who participated in previous cycles. They felt that one of the possible benefits they could get from the Rhizome Commissions Program and the open member vote in particular (besides a commission) was discussion around their work. Our goal is to encourage a constructive conversation between you and the voters who will be engaging your work.

When voting begins, you will be able to turn comments on via the voting tool on your proposal page:

The comments are, again, optional. If you do choose to enable them, please note that you have the ability to moderate the comments. You can hide comments, flag them as spam, or flag them as abusive. We encourage the voters to be constructive, but it is up to you to determine the line between helpful or negative.

Good luck, and feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns about this new feature, or any other part of the member voting process.
