BJ Fogg on the Psychology of Persuasion

Psychology of Persuasion

For Fun Theory this fall we will be looking at BJ Fogg’s work on Behavior Design. I couldn’t wait to investigate what he is all about. In this talk, BJ highlights the three things that have to happen at the same moment for a behavior to happen.

  1. Trigger
  2. Ability
  3. Motivation

BJ also mentions that the big tech companies put “Hot Triggers” (Ex. Ads on google and FB) in the path of motivated people.
