I love the laser cutter. I cut a living hinge into some scrap masonite lying around the shop.

Motorized Cow Flinger
Late night in the shop doing the PComp motor labs, add a drive train from a DVD player, a clay cow found in the junk pile, and not enough sleep.

I love the Junk Shelf
If you haven’t taken a look at all of the goodies on the junk shelf in the shop, you are doing yourself a disservice. Look at all of the greatness I pulled from an old printer and DVD player.
A bunch of motors. A sweet drive train. A motor controlled sliding rack. Connectors, gears, and springs oh my. And if anyone knows what the thing on the left is, I’d love to know. Pulled it out of the printer and my best guess is it’s a bunch of photocells to detect a paper jamb.
Fancy Potentiometers
Needed some pots for my latest lab, thought I’d make it a little fancy. Used some scrap acrylic and bent it with a heat gun. It does the trick.
