SENSORS MANUFACTURER LETTER
Hello, I am a student here at the graduate Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU. Specifically I am contacting you because I am involved in a course called "Sensor Workshop" by Jamie Allen. This class is full of budding interaction designers, product designers and artists using sensor technologies in our work and future businesses. A large part of the course is self-guided research by students, for students, around specific sensor functioning principles, test data and applications. The results of our research is posted online, at http://itp.nyu.edu/physcomp/sensors, for the benefit of other designers, hobbyists and students and it has proven to be a very often visited site by a lot of people. I wanted to touch base with you to see if there might be some way of having your company involved in our course. For example, do you happen to have any free (or nearly free) resources such as literature, samples, kits, posters, or documentation on your Seismographs, floating around your offices that you might be able to toss the way of a few starving students? Are there other ways that you engage in outreach activities with educational institutions? I appreciate you taking the time to read this inquiry. Many thanks for any help you could lend.
Best regards,
Benedetta Piantella Simeonidis
