GPS TESTS

THERE ARE SOME PRIVILEGES IN LIVING IN ASTORIA

From an oceanographer I was directed, in my research on Tsunamiters, to new GPS receivers like GPS Iridium, as apparently once you know the speed (voltage), and the wave height (amplitude), you can derive potential energy.

So, I am playing with a Garmin GPS 72 and my attempt is to possibly do a GPS drawing in water or at least get data out of it. As soon as i find my Serial to USB adapters i will try.

One of the many possible advatnages of living in Queens could be that GPS receivers seem to work better up here. For the first few days i used in simulation mode, but from my apt in Astoria, it first switched to 2D and then to 3D GPS.

Meaning that it now is connected to at least 4 different satellites.
