PROJECT STREAMLINE - Helping Those Who Help The Homeless

Spring 2010 // Design Expo // ITP

In every major metropolitan area, homelessness is a part of every day life. There are also a number of existing organizations in these areas that are trying to help the homeless, but find themselves bogged down by way too many forms and way too much paperwork

The goal of "Project Streamline" is to help those who help the homeless by providing outreach workers with improved communication tools:

for the Sharing of knowledge across organizations
to find smarter methods of reaching the homeless
and simplifying paperwork

Through the use of a smartphone application , the amount of hand held items used to collect data and find people can be significantly reduced. Also, the overall bureaucracy of paperwork and forms will be consolidated into on efficient uniform system. The key to great technology and design is to Simplify and Connect.
