For the final, I’m designing a generative tapestry pattern and will choose one version to try to weave on a loom.
There are two conceptual approaches that I’m exploring – as I get into coding, I will decide which is the better approach.
Concept 1: Woven Art Exhibition: Indigenous to Contemporary Style
Design a pattern for a poster/book cover for a fictional weaving arts exhibition. The pattern would be a hybrid of indigenous, and modern weaving influences- showing the range of the textiles featured in the hypothetical book/exhibition.

Concept 2: The Fabric of Perception
Design a poster/book cover for a hypothetical exhibition on creativity and perception anomalies. The pattern would be generated by using data from a genetic mutation that is thought to cause a sensory phenomenon like synesthesia, or face-blindness. The pattern would have some generative aspect, and then be woven into a tapestry.
