I’m no longer interested in pursuing the creation of an online design school. Instead I want to see if I can tackle motivation to learn instead.
I’m decided to go the opposite route from specialization and instead try and motivate people to learn a bit of everything. I do see value in being educated to some degree in all the major areas of learning. I am thinking of making the site a sort of hybrid between existing online learning platforms and trivia sites.
I’m drawing a lot from my own experiences of having learnt a lot more through games and open book exams than rote learning. I do think a lot of the traditional assignments are geared more towards specialization that it is towards having an understanding.
I think one of the major components that’s missing in online education platforms, even the capabilities to do so exist, is assessing the student’s current knowledge. I would really like to tap into this more.
I’m using Node.js and Bootstrap to rapid prototype my idea.
Users can register, sign in, create courses and view other courses at the moment.
