This week, I wore the flex sensor for a duration of time while performing different activities. I wore it for about 25 minutes while sitting during class, 25 minutes while standing at a Rare Grooves presentation, and about 10 minutes while biking on a stationary bike.
During the bike ride, my back was arched the most, and it also had the most variation. I assume this would be true of any sort of exercise. While sitting, it’s evident that I shifted positions because of the frequent spikes on the graph. While standing, I had the most consistent posture.
I think the next step for this project is to use multiple flex sensors on different areas of the back and see how my neck, lower back, and middle back differ throughout the day. I’d like to make a wearable, wireless system that can transmit data, but so far have not decided on the hardware that can do this.
