I recently visited a family friend that had a child that was still in diapers. In hanging out with them I noticed that every hour or so they would pick up the baby, raise its butt to their nose and try and smell if the baby had dirtied its diaper. I found that to be completely absurd. In 2013 this is the only way we had to see if a child had dirtied its diaper, by subjecting ourselves to smelling the foul odour of urine and feces?
I wanted to work on making a device that would snap on to the back of a babies diaper and detect through moisture sensors or possibly temperature sensors weather or not it needed to be changed. If it did then the device would send you a text message or light up red to make you aware that the baby needs to be changed.
Hopefully by the time I have children some one would have created a solution to this problem and save me from shoving my face into my childs butt every few hours.
