Bends

I’ve decided to make a wearable that captures information from bends in the spine during sex. The wearable will be similar to a strappy leather harness. I’ll attach three flex sensors to key points along the strap that traces the spine. I plan to also sew on loops in discreet places for a partner to pull and position the wearer.

I may do one of two things with the information: 1) design computer art. 2) have the data control sounds in realtime. The person wearing the harness would be “DJing” the sex session.

I’m also thinking about attaching a row of vibrating motors to the spine strap instead of flex sensors, or somehow send electricity up the spine. I may have to do some research into acupuncture, Qi energy, meridian lines, tantric sex, and kundalini energy.

For now, I’ve constructed a circuit for three flex sensors and made a simple line graph in Processing. Two frames are pasted below. I tried using Eclipse with no luck.

On a separate note, I browsed the book, Data Visualization, by Ben Fry. Chapter 8 discusses three-dimensional plots. It’s a stretch for my skill set, but I’d like to see if I could build an animated three-dimensional plot with the accelerometer data I captured from my first project. Here is an illustration of one from the book:
