I initially wanted to compare my heart beat between native language environment and foreign language but I couldn’t get any dramatic result after living in new york for a year. Instead, I decided to see how I feel stress from each class in this semester, and then I got interesting results as above image. Left image is Rest of You and right one is Designing Conversational Space.
Setting for visualization is as below;
If my heart rate is between 60 and 100, the ellipse is in gray scale and getting brighter as heart rate is going up. When heart rate is over 100, the ellipse is turned into color mode.
Can you see differences between two classes? My heart rate in Shirky’s class is much brighter than left one. I think this is a matter of how I am conscious of the class. Because I knew I was more nervous about Shirky’s class operation with lots of questions toward students. And actual result showed that my heart rate was quickly increased when Shirky asked me a question suddenly.
