I’ve been kind of stuck on a nautical theme this semester, so for my final I am going to resurrect my Titanic midterm sketch and create a game out of it showing the untold story of the true hero of Titanic, Caledon “Cal” Hockley, portrayed by longtime friend of Derek Zoolander, Billy Zane.

Cal is remembered by many as the classy dude who the whorish Rose dumped for that roguish ne’er-do-well Jack, and from whom she stole the “Heart of the Ocean”.

Thief and whore in her youth...

...and a liar in her old age.

When last seen in the movie, Cal is heroically assisting a young child into a lifeboat, and thoughtfully staying with that poor urchin to ensure she avoided the watery fate that would surely claim her real parents. My game will use my Titanic animation as an intro into a game in which Cal tries to help guide his lifeboat through a sea of bobbing future corpsicles threatening to swamp his lifeboat by selfishly trying to save their own lives…like you know who(re).

Since I don’t know how to do this, I will be moving in with Dan Shiffman for the next two weeks, serving as the au pair for his son Nomar (don’t worry Dan, he’ll get used to the new name) for the next two weeks in exchange for round the clock tutoring. I will be filming the whole thing for use next semester in Shawn’s television class.
