Final Project_ Dynamic Canvas
This is a series of our works that theme is drawing on dynamic canvas. We try to capture emotional experience of drawing and feeling of appreciating the poetic picture. It can be applied a viewing wall or interactive table.
Description;
Two people can play with the table that made by metal sculpture and wood.
By using a fog machine (not fogger for DJ, working with dryice), fogs are generated that act as white screen. Light Fogs will covered a metal sheet with mountain formed and then projecting on it, processing images will desplay.

User Scenario;
When people pass by the table, fog machine generated fogs that means small fan will be turn on and helping dry ice to come out into table. This processing purpose to lead people’s interest by natural way. Also when people close to the table, fogs keep generating they make a kind of screen after then with blowing action, people can draw on the table. The images, which they draw with blowing, are very poetic with fog’s move. LED lights give people directions to go next steps.
Background;
We studied a lot about the environment how people feel comfortable and relax with table formed because square fit usually gives people challenges or competitions. Also we research on material characteristics that how to deal with metal mesh sheets and acrylic sheets.
Process;
The main body thing was made by diamond formed metal-mesh sheet; we put heavy structures under the sheets and bent it with hammer for getting mountain form. Moreover, the plastic sheet which is same size of mesh sheet melted by hot gun, for getting the same shape of mesh sheet. This is for preventing smog escaping out through the meshes. And we built frames with wood, 24″ x 48″ x 35″.
Audience;
we expect to everyone join this project because blowing behavior is easy and familiar to everyone from kids to adults.
Future plan;
Our rest goal is rendering real time screen, according to circumstances that strength of blowing or temperature of breath or something related to human senses, instead of just playing one, which was pre-programmed video.
