Abstract Drawing

I chose to create an abstract primitive type of drawing for my final assignment in visual design.  As I created several drawing’s I realized that I wanted to draw inspiration from hand made primitive type’s of object’s.  As I went around and searched for inspiration I stubbled across some slate that had been cut and laid as a patio behind a 1800′s house.  It struck me as particularly Beautiful.  I took a picture of it and colored it in with a relatively crude pen in bold primary color’s.

From shifting around the Hue’s and Saturation’s I was able to see how the “Feeling of the drawing changed.  The entire mood is different with different color’s.  It also take’s on an entirely different look than the photographic representation though to me it give’s a similar feel.  I enjoyed being able to utilize layer’s in photoshop.  Adding each section via a layer allowed me to see how each section of the drawing/Photo changed it’s impact.  I personally like the combination of photo and drawing the best.  The process of making this drawing was extremely informative.

For the Hue test in the assignment I scored a 9 out of 150.  Lower number’s are better and my faults were in two part’s of the hue section.  I could not tell I had made the mistake’s.
