Preamp with speakers

Michael D and I came back to the labs and began to test out our 70 cent speakers. We knew that we weren't going to get much sound out of them by plugging them directly in, so we used an LM 386 preamp from Radio Shack.

We used our ipods to feed the speaker some sound.

After some help from Tracy, we were able to get some good sound out of the speaker. The sound is mono. Here are some schematics of the preamp into the speaker.

We used the schematic for 20 and connected the two GAIN pins together through a 1uF capacitor. Caps are essential when smoothing out the electrical flow throughout the board.

Tracy's example. They had used the preamp for their input, a mic.
