Proposal

Make the alarm clock more effective at waking us up.

Observations

We asked our friends and family the following questions:
1-How many alarms do you set every night? If more than one, why?
2-Do you or How often do you turn off your alarm clock accidentally thinking that you're snoozing?
3- Do you or How often do you turn off your alarm clock in the semi-awake state and don't remember it?
4- Do you use snooze function? Does it cause you to wake up later than you should?
5- Do you think our nervous systems get used to the snooze function and which leads to the defeat of it's purpose?
6- After waking up do you find yourself setting the alarm to a later time(10 min- 1 hour)?
7- How do you think is the most efficient way to wake up? Do you think an annoying sound would be better? Or do you think the sound alone is sometimes not enough?

some of the responses where as follows:

1-none
2-never
3-never
4-no
5-yes
6-no
7-sound and light graualy increasing.

1. One, on an average. If the hotel room alarm doesn't look reliable, I'll do either my phone alarm, or a small alarm clock that I take along with me.
2. 10%
3. 10%
4. very little; more by accident, than on purpose.
5. no; you snooze because you choose to snooze, whether you realize it or not.
6. about 3%
7. types of sound

1- and not every night.
2- occasionaly
3- rarely
4- no
5- yes
6- not normally
7- I often wake up from dreams, that seems pretty effective, rather than sound. INternal waking.

version A, attempt 1

version A attemp 1 with 'ghost in the machine effects', get near it and leds would turn on/off or the whole thing would turn on/off

version B attempt 1

sketch of possible clock alarm trigger

making the clock alarm trigger

attempt at using a digital alarm as a trigger

analog clock alarm trigger open

analog clock alarm trigger

version A, attempt 2

version B, attempt 2. One arduino to control the sound(needs delays for melodoy) and one to control the switchs and leds

almost~

yeah~!
