Shhhh at the Burp Castle

You don’t get silence in New York a lot. So when you find it, it is precious. Silence, they say is golden, and imagine finding that silence in a bar in New York. After a long day, you walk in and there you are in a room full of silence: no music, no loud voices or people or plates and no noise. You walk in, hear the silence and smile.

It was a very pleasant scene walking into the Burp Castle. My friend and I ordered a beer and sat down. I ordered a Lucifer, which was a kind of a Belgian beer and my friend ordered the Creme Brulee Stout, which for me had a very heavy and sweet taste. We got to taste our beers before we ordered them. There are many other beers to choose from. The place has a very homey and a bit European feeling. You don’t feel like you are in New York at all.

The lady at the bar was eating her dinner when we got there. While you might find this strange, it also makes a reaffirmation of the feeling that you are at a house of some sort rather than a bar.

The Burp Castle will definitely become one of those places I visit by myself on a regular basis when I want to hide or rest or just be quite and listen to myself.

Side note: I loved the decoration on the walls. The barmaid at some point did sshh the people in there and shh they did, just like that :)

PS. I put the pictures I took while I was there, but I also added some from the web the ones I took are very dark.
