My interest in this area stems from early childhood.

At around 4 years of age I visited the house of one of my mother's friends. He had a video camera setup, which was very unusual in those days. My younger brother and I took delight in appearing on the video screen. We had achieved being "on" TV and thus gained a sense of power over the medium.

In later years I have gained experience in working in dramatic theater as well as in video production. It has been my desire to somehow bring these two disciplines together in a way that will enhance the experience of live theater as well as creating a kind of living movie.

My choice to attend ITP was to some extent influenced by the desire to try to develop a new kind of theater/film hybrid.

The unique resources of ITP, as embodied in the faculty and students, afford a stage for exploring the media of theater, video and virtual reality and the ability to mount, if not a full fledged production, at the very least a "staged reading" of my ideas.
