The relationship between human and the environment
One day I was on the subway, saw eveyone on the subway has no facial expressions, it seems like all they care are weather they can find a seat or not. I think everyone comes to NY because we have a dream, but once our lifes go into routine, we forgot our dreams. I wonder if people still try to make their dream come true?
I interviewed people in my neighborhood, who works in cafe shop, clothing store..., I wonder what people do beside their jobs.
I asked them questions like, "Why did you come to NY?", "What do you enjoy most about NY?", "What do you do beside this job?". And at the end of the interview, I asked them to give me something can represent them, but I won't give them back.
in the book, I place those objects they gave me before their pictures, give the reader some rooms of imaginations.
Encouraginglly, all the people I interviewed, they are still try to make their dreams come true, very hard. The girl who works in a cafe shop, is a model and has her band. The boy who works in the video store, wants to be a cartoonist.
