The Physical Side

This area shows some of the construction we used to create the glove and the sensors.
This is initial work. We no longer use audio jacks but a built in menu system.

We upgraded the earlier elastic bands with the fingers of polyester gloves. The sensors are exposed so that the user knows where to position them.

They are taped onto the glove with gaffer's tape, and the white wrapping wire is funneled through shrink wrap to the junction of all fingers' wires, where they are fed into a larger shrinkwrap tube.

To further make sense of the wires, we soldered them to audio jacks. Not only does this look classy, but it makes it easy for the user to reconfigure the finger-to-drum mapping by plugging in and out of the box. Given more time, we would have labeled the black box with drum names to make this more intuitive.
