Whales:
Whales communicate using sound, which can travel enormous distances underwater (up tp 3000km in some cases).
Sound can travel almost 4 times as fast in water (2800 mph versus 700), and also in the depths of the ocean
other senses such as smell and sight can be hampered.
Whales use sound both to communicate and to echolocate and for pleasure?
Humpback whales use song to find mates.
They can even learn new songs from eachother.
