Sound Project 1
Using Audacity, present your 55 word story as a radio theater piece.
A couple of things to think about-
Rhythm & movement
Combining sounds
Twisting sounds
Timing
Texture & layers
Using the human voice
Environment & space
Placing sound in a field-creating a phantom image
Approach this project like a photographer using a camera. Use sound editing programs with sound like you would use Photoshop with images.

Objective: Create a model of a dome or a sphere that can respond to the scale of the human body. Start with the conceptual design and technics explored by Buckminster Fuller or explore the potentials of a bicycle wheel, an umbrella or other directions.

Journey on the M5 Bus Route
Take the M5 bus on a weekend at Houston and La Guardia Place to the last stop - george Washington Bridge- and return. The trip should take about 1 and 1/2 hours.
make notes of what you find surprising- e.g. changing neighborhoods, changing people, changing architecture, or none of these- and write your own personal experience of the trip- observing, imagining, and reacting to New York, or you can imagine a story about the people you see.
The assignment is a short 5 page personal story of your experience. If you choose to create media, a short written piece is required as well.

Abstract
Philip Rosedale, Founder and CEO of Linden Lab - creator of Second > Life, will discuss the challenges of using a distributed network of > computers to create a persistent 3D online world where users can do > just about anything they can imagine.
Bio
Philip Rosedale has an extensive background in the development and pioneering of streaming technology, having built his first computer in 4th grade, and started his first computer software company while still in high school. In 1995 he developed FreeVue, a low-bitrate video conferencing system for Internet-connected PC's, resulting in the acquisition of his company in early 1996 by RealNetworks. For 3 1/2 years, Rosedale served at RealNetworks as Vice President and CTO, where he was responsible for the development and launch of RealVideo, RealSystem 5.0, and RealSystem G2. In 1999 Rosedale returned to San Francisco, joined Accel Partners as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and began the basic research that would become the technology behind Linden Lab. Rosedale holds a BS degree in Physics from the University of California at San Diego.

Iteration
Objective:
1. Using arrays and loops have a simple drawing/object move around or appear in some decorative pattern.
2. Now that your creature is an object. Make an array of your creature, with each element move independently. Add some additional functionality or interaction.
