David Gibson, a principal at TwoTwelve will be joining us. Please prepare for his talk by familiarizing yourself with the work of twotwelve.com. Davis is also the author of The Wayfinding Handbook: Information Design for Public Places (Princeton Architectural Press, 2009).
A short video of David touring Penn Station is at the bottom of this excellent article on Wayfinding on Slate.
Wayfinding is another user experience design opportunity. It addresses many of the same issues that we confront in screen-based interfaces. How do you make the experience of navigating space intuitive, what are the key decision making points and what is the right amount of instruction to provide guidance without overwhelming the user with options. David will be sharing the work his firm has done at NYU Langone Center and at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital as well as his work in Charlotte, NC and in Dubai.
