Attractive Things Work Better

I enjoyed this article/retraction and found myself agreeing with it in a scary design fascist kind of way. i did start thinking about the term "work" and how subjective it is. Norman doesn't mention it. Perhaps aesthetic subjectivity is too obvious a point but I noticed its absence nonetheless.

I thought of some of my own object success stories as well. And noted that my morning ritual involved the use of some of the objects that i find most human centered and successful.

1. A cup and saucer that is designed so that you can walk with it and it will not spill. Attractive and also time tested.

Here is the tea straw that I also use a lot. A friend was designing the packaging and gave me one.

The straw accompanies the following glass...

For some reason I had to shoot the container that holds the tea several times. Although it is the most orcinary object of the bunch. The arrangement of the tea bags seemed worth the effort.
