This project was a great collaboration with the tallented Pamela Gerhauser, Jason Spangler and Mari Hara. The project was actually assigned to the whole class. Its purpose was to train each one of us to work as a part of a large group. We were divided to groups, and to make it as realistic as possible the class had to vote on who will be the project managing group. Pam, Jason, Mari and I were selected. As an addition to the resposibilities of orchestrating the project from begining to end, and creat the graphics for the visual presentation, we were required to design the main escelator area at the center of the space to follow the general design concept. The main concept was the flowing of curves and organic shapes to lead the customers through the different departments. Naturally, we decided to carry this concept to the vertical. Our main inspiration was (some may have already guessed) Frank Gehry's infemous curves. You'll notice that the quality of the 3D drawings is not great, and the edges are pixelated. This is due to the fact that it was our first experience with the lighting program Lightwave. Check out my thesis project - Volition - to see an improved practice of this application. The drawings were created with AutoCAD, FormZ, and Lightscape. |
