Filming Project

This week was spent filming all of the scenes of our group film project for which we created the storyboard for last week. I had a great time working with my group in getting all of the scenes shot. I played one of the characters, so I wasn't able to be filming all of the time, but that was nice, because, while I've had a little experience before with filming, I don't consider myself an expert. It also gave me a chance to play with lighting more (one of my weak points in past film projects). It was a great time getting into character and being silly and creative. We pretty much stayed with the storyboard, but added a few scenes and filmed a few alternate endings, so we have some options in the editing room next week. We'll be checking all of the footage soon to make sure all of the shots came out as we all expected.

New Experience Response

Off off Broadway play

One of my boyfriend's friends is trying to be an actor, and was in a one-act play that was part of a series of one acts. It was located on 80 Grove st in the West Village below a piano bar, way off Broadway. I usually am not good at being an art critic, and usually say I like everything (I guess it's a by-product of being an overly nice person, which is why it may seem odd that I'm in all these fighting roles). The one act that our friend was in was nice, well our friend was good, but one of the other actors built into his character that he would forget his lines to compensate for the fact that he actually didn't remember his lines. The play before it was really bad though. I don't know if it was the writing or the acting that made it bad, but I guess when the whole play revolves around a song called "Shake Your Do-do crack" it can't be good. It's ok though, because now I realize that I don't have to like everything.
