week 1: observations
Kazu: I asked some friends to play a stuffed toy for a while. I observed them, and that was interesting. They played with it as if it was a little child basically. The actions are the followings: shaking hands, pushing its hand and legs, picking its nose with their fingers, patting its hands and head, upending it, and making it talk and dance. These were what I had expected. I also treated it as a baby when bringing it. MOVIE
However, there was what I had not anticipated. A friend fed the toy and tried to undress it. She also tried to make it put on shoes because it was cold. If she had been a child, it would have been natural and not have surprised me. I think the stuffed toy makes us like children...
Rocio: I went around the floor with the jiraf asking people to interact with it. They happily did so. Most of the played with the hands... moved it as it was real or they try to made it look alive. Others made the jirafe interact with objects. I put the jirafe on the floor and space changed and made them interact differently. Others put it inside their clothes. It was really funny.
