Ohm's Law
Geog Simon Ohm (AD 1787-1854), after careful study of electric current flowing
through conductors, was able to provide a formula for measuring a current. The current in an electric
current is directly propotionate to the voltage in the current and inversely proportionate to the
resistance(impediment to electric flow) in the current.
This became known as Ohm's Law: I = E / R, where I is the current, E the electromotive force (voltage),
and R is the resistance.
Fun Word Fact: An ohm is one unit of resistance.
