THE BRONX

This week I went upto the Bronx to try and see what would happen in the Bronx compared to Manhattan. My sister lives in Norwood (205th Street) so I visited her there. We went to the park in Norwood, which had a soccer field, a playground and places to walk and rest. My sister Duygu helped me with the camera, and she recorded me while I was being rejected by people.

Not surprisingly, people in the Bronx were more willing to cooperate- although it was a work day. The first person I asked volunteered, and that was surprising. She was a teenager riding her bike and she said okay right away. However, her answers to my questions weren't very cooperative, she only answered yes or no. The next person we interviewed was her mother, Maritza. She also volunteered right away, and she was very willing to answer the questions. She was very open about her feelings, and she even told me that she was going through a separation with her husband.

Besides her, we didn't get any other interviews, but my sister recorded me while I was being rejected by people in the Bronx. Most of them had kids to watch since it was a playground, and another person didn't speak English.

Overall, it was a good trip and I guess I had one very successful interview.
