meditation002 - 5$input-shaper

MaxMSPScreenSnapz001.jpg

hmm.. this meditation should have been posted one week ago, neverthelless i used some extra time to achieve what i exactly wanted: a basic 3 structure / shape controlable with the trackpad.
to control independent parameters using the same and one mouse/ trackpad input.
Using extra keys combination it is possible to control, position (x,y,z), scale (x,y,z), color (r,g,b,a) and dimensions/ sides of shape,
also used keys as shortcuts to toggles for some 3d shape characteristics(poly_mode; depth enable; smooth_shading).
More than everything this meditation was about data flows and routing and though i really learned a lot i still think (that besides messy) this patch can be improved. ..and there stil are 98989898989000 objects to be found! ehhe!

meditation001_poly-rhythmic-tempo-f3ed-wh4t-120

this is my first jitter exercise! still banging my head but a bit more happier with the results..
the objective of this exercise was to create a polyrhythmic texture.
I decided to leave a movie file playing with no interaction in the its tempo, timeline properties, but playing with rough cuts and masks on the screen. The aspect ratio of the movie file is 4:3 so I used that for my shape construction. As the rhythms beat in 3 and in 4 i've taken the beat parts and attributed a screen chunk to each, so for beats in 4, 4 columns and for beats in 3, 3 rows.
Each part (mask) of the image is only shown during a beat duration, leaving some trails behind when it is replaced by the next beat/masks, breaking the image appart in both space and time.
