Shotlist- Dad/daughter self-deceiving lie
The look- All black and white. The characters themselves are doused in baby powder, wearing all startling white. They are filmed in the dark with bright flashlights/spotlights shining on them. Relevant objects to the scene are also doused in baby powder or white paint. For the effect of black and white- truth or fiction. The whole thing has the effect of glimpses seen under a strobe light.

Shot 1- Wide-angle shot, showing kitchen, hall. Dad walking out of kitchen in his business attire, ready for work. He is lost in thought (no doubt, about the conversation he just had with mom) with a furrowed brow. He attempts to whistle a tune but loses track of it. His head is facing down to the ground, looking at his own feet.
Shot 2- Widest possible angle shot showing the girl’s bedroom and focusing on the bed, where we can see the sheets rustling and here some giggles. The girl’s leg is sticking out.
It is obvious that she has a boy in there with her.
Shot 3- Close-up from the back of Dad’s head but maybe viewing a little bit of his face from the side as he comes up to the daughter’s door. All at the same time, he starts softly whispering his little pet name for her, knocking on the door (scratching at it), opening it and poking his head in.
Shot 4- Shot of the bed and a punk looking boy in just tighty whiteys jumping out of it and staring right ahead at the Dad, surprised, scared, confused. He freezes for a second. His body is visible from his knees to his face and becomes the center of the spotlight.
Shot 5- The punk boy breaks out of his deer-in-headlights/freezeframe stare and jumps into the closet.
Shot 6- The camera pans back to the girl and her shocked, ashamed, startled, angry face as she screams, “Dad, don’t you know how to knock before you just bust into peoples’ private spaces?!”
Shot 7- The camera pans back to the dad’s face but this time from inside the room. The girl’s face is visible as well. He is not looking at her but at the closet, also in a blank stare, shocked. He is still in his own head.
Shot 8- Porn scenes flash on the screen in a kind of strobe. Then the word “No!” appears.
Shot 9- There’s a still life scene of the girl dressed as a little girl with candy and dolls all around her.
Shot 10- Another still-life like scene of the girl on the dad’s lap (maybe he is dressed as Santa)?
Shot 11- We return to the frozen frame of the punk boy caught next to the daughter’s bed. “No!” pops up over it again.
Shot 12- The same shot becomes a still and a pair of scissors appear within the frame. They go down and cut out the punk boy’s image. The Dad’s whistling (vigorously) is heard in the background.
Shot 13- Shot of the still with the boy’s image removed.
Shot 14- A hand enters the frame holding a picture of the son in the same position, but fully dressed and holding his homework he was showing his sister (or something). It is cut out to fill the space where the boyfriend was, but something is off enough that it will look like a bad cut and paste job.
Shot 15- A shot of the manipulated image all together.
Shot 16- Back to a close-up of the dad’s face from inside the room. He is now looking at the daughter, who is looking back at him. He says to her, with an awkward, dazed look, in a dreamy tone of voice, “How did your brother get in here so fast? . . . Well, there’s no time to play no, kids, you’ll be late for school. Come get some breakfast.”
(X-tra Shot-???- The daughter looks back up at him like he is crazy, very confused.)
Shot 17- Another shot from behind of the dad as he closes the door, with his concerned face still visible, wrestling to calm himself and convince himself .
Shot 18- Shot of Dad walking back down the hall the other direction, exactly the same as the other hall shot.
Shot 19- The still shot of the caught punk boy melds back in partially with the image of the brother, maybe just half and half.
