Mwwwah! I was playing with 2 designs for the wing. One was kind of dull, although it worked well. It looked mechanical in movement. The other design was a little trickier to build, but it felt more natural (the end "finger" extended more than the near one during movement, much like a bird's or bat's).
Then bat wing idea met its soul mate in the lounge last night. "That's cool" Eric said as he ran to get his new mechanism that he could not stop playing with for two days. A black heart that turned asymmetrically on itself. We combined ideas on the spot to create both a winged mechanism and a means to move it that created visual interest. See for yourself.
