I still need more time...

Posted on January 03, 2006 at 06:17 PM by sj695

It is cold outside! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and happy new year, mine has been alright enjoying family in town and just relaxing. I haven’t really done anything but unpack for the past couple of weeks, but I did spend sometime on my News Bubble Reader.

Here is a link to the application file: DOWNLOAD

One thing, the application only works on Macs, so if you have a PC go to the lab. So, if you have a few minutes give the app a test drive and please, please, please respond with feedback.

THANKS!!!
Steve

If I had more time...

Posted on December 20, 2005 at 03:18 PM by sj695

NOTE: Shout outs after the jump

Already, we’re ¼ of the way done! WOW! How do I feel about this? How do you feel about this? In some ways it’s kind of sad, but I am sure glad to be done with finals!! At the same time my mixed feelings towards being a quarter of the way done is also reflective in my finals. Although, they were stress filled and often error prone, especially wireless Ping Pong (Kate Hartman ROCKS!), I found the experience very stimulating, motivating and full of adrenaline. Actually after finals I felt this void and I found myself waking in the morning asking “now what?” and then that’s when the sadness (stress?) kicks in because in 3 more semesters that “now what?” will no longer be a whisper greeting me at sunrise, but a scream echoing through my dome. Carpe diem and live in the present little Steven, at least a little bit.

So now what? Maybe I’ll head over to the list and check out movie and book recommendations, helloooooooo anybody theeeeeeeere. Or maybe I’ll help Dan Phiffer with his KICK ASS remix of floor 4, . Oh, oh I’ll get on dodgeball and find some people to hang out with, damn I forgot I broke my cell phone at the last TNO, NOTE TO SELF: Burn some candles and rub ya Gris Gris bag. And then comes that voice again “If I had more time, If I had more time I would” are final presentations coming back to haunt me?

Physical Computing - whole new world

Posted on October 03, 2005 at 05:49 PM by sj695

Currently my main focus this semester is Physical computing. I feel like I am currently at a point where I can begin to put things together. The sense of confidence became more evident during the physical computing/processing demo today in Intro Computational Media. So tonite I'll spend sometime trying to master what i've learned thus far in Physical Computing so that I can easily excute what ever ideas I come of with. I know for a fact I'll have to start praticing soldering, that's whats i'm currently spending the most time on.

Gotta go,
Steve

I need my laptop!!!

Posted on September 16, 2005 at 02:09 PM by sj695

I really really really need to get my new laptop! Went to the Computer store and they won't have any 12 inch Powerbooks until Wednesday. I guess that's what I deserve for trying to wait until Macworld Paris. Oh well. I'm just tired of hanging out in the computer cave while everyone else is having a wireless good time in the lounge.

Just a few more days and i'll be movin on up to the SUPER LOUNGE!

P.S. You may be wondering why I am in a program like this with no computer. Well a few weeks before my journey to New York my previous vintage powerbook titanium fell off my apartment balcony.

P.S.S. Didn't that last P.S. sound sort of geeky? And why are moves so exciting? Well, exciting if it isn't because of a storm coming 75 miles and hour and your house flooding to the roof (i'm coming from the Big Easy aka New Orleans aka Home of Internal refugees aka Home of Jazz, Gumbo, Voodoo and Street cars).

This post is about computers more on Katrina later.

Holla,
Steve
