At the first class in Metaforms, I drew one of classmates with a pen and letter size paper. Although I only have less than five times of experience in portrait drawing, I described his face as much as possible. However, the result was awful, especially the ratio of length to width. I thought I drew the right ratio. I think the different angles of plane between a piece of paper and model made the strange ratio.

Then, how about a model of architecture and a real architecture? Even if the model is awesome and beautiful, is it always good for real size people? This flow of thinking reminds me of the Kunsthaus Graz, Graz, Austria. Actually, I visited there because of it's bird's-eye view and I was quite impressed by philosophy of Peter Cook and Colin Fournier

But, reality was different what I expected, though, it was still amazing.

*some amazing pictures I found in the Internet: http://www.arcaid.captureweb.co.uk/imagefiles/10/70/9-/10/0-/10709-100-1-2.jpg http://graz.metblogs.com/archives/images/2006/12/630px-Crw_0235_0236_Graz_-_Schlossberg_-_Kunsthaus.jpg http://f.freeblog.hu/s/e/s/sese-/files/peter_cook_friendlyalien_graz_2.jpg
idea? How about a virtual reality program that is working together with a 3D architecture modeling program? I guess a similar software is already out there. Then, how about a game that VR with user generated dungeon(building). The flow also reached Gordon Matta-Clark, but later.
+ As I can see above three amazing pictures, I can say it is a fantasy. I couldn't see at the real space in my eye. But, I agree it is a valuable when the fansasy, which is not seen by ordinary citizens, is beyond the reality. |
