Seattle Central Library, designed by OMA (from wikipedia)
While reading a Coney Island story in Delirious New York written by Rem Koolhaas, I thought I should have pick sites for the metaforms assignment. As I could say the book philosophy, it was impressive that putting philosophy into exhibits in an amusement park.
Interesting words were: - technology + cardboard(or any other flimsy material) = reality - [...] defines completely new relationships between site, program, form and technology.
During the reading, I thought about the dog run metaforms idea. The dog run is used by only dogs and the owners in daytime. In the entire park, we can easily see squirrels in daytime, on the other hand, the park is occupied by rats at night. The space is used by specific type of groups. Then, how about applying this "using in shift" idea to architecture or metaforms? Frankly, I was excited this concepts but Rem Koolhaas already proposed. "Koolhaas (unsuccessfully) proposed the inclusion of hospital units for the homeless into the Seattle public Library project (2003)." (wikipedia)
Then, how about in the cyberspace? But, it is used by people all around the world every second. |
