Seeking advice from Todd to see if our idea can be used

The sketch of our ideas in discussion

03_Test_series.gif
Our test to see if we can use the LED in series, however we found out that there is too much degragation using the series method so we decided to go with the parallell method for the LED display.

Our initial draft of the sound chandalier - "Soundalier" - initial sketch

Our Soundelier in reverse mode. - How does it look?-

draft_process.gif
Our rough raft process - our initial design for the project -

1. Physical Computing…..

1) Concept and purpose: Soundelier
We are constantly surrounded by sound wherever we go. Soundelier is a chandelier that dances around and emits light depending on varying degree of sound volume.
The greater the intensity of sound, the more energetic Soundelier becomes.

2) Process:

- input : We use Velleman K1803 as our amplifier

- We will experiment with different microphones

- 1 Arduino and a multiplexer

- output:

i. movement – Soundelier rotates back and forth within a limited range

ii. lights – blinking LED’s

- the physical thing: build a chandelier out of wire

3) Problem solving:

- what kind of multiplexer

- In any case, the Arduino must run on battery. How???

4)

5)
